Selected Jazz TV Interview Clips And One Of My Radio Shows
The first video is from CNN International in 1993 and the second is from Channel 46 Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. In both video I was producing jazz concerts. I was the Artistic Director of the Atlanta Jazz Festival between 1991 and 1996. I produced the Clark Atlanta University Jazz Masters Series in 1989. These two videos are two among many television appearances between 1987 and 1996. The second video is divided into four segments. I hosted a jazz radio show off and on between 1984 and 2007 on WCLK Atlanta and I was a news commentator in 2009 as well as host of a jazz segment on E-FM, in Busan South Korea. At the bottom of this page there is a music player where you can hear a recording of one of my radio shows on WCLK.
During the early 1980s I managed some prominent jazz artists in New York City including David Murray and Lester Bowie. I was the last Music Director At Small’s Paradise In Harlem and taught jazz history at the prestigious 92 Street YMYWHA in New York City.
After moving to Atlanta and graduating from Emory Law School I produced the “Jazz At The Penta Hotel” jazz series in Atlanta which later became “Jazz At The Renaissance Hotel” before the club closed in 1993.
I also hosted a live radio broadcast over WCLK FM live from the Penta/Renaissance Hotel. I have had the pleasure of booking, working with and/or seeing all of the jazz artists I wanted to see during my life. In addition I presented pre-concert lectures for the education department of the Atlanta Symphony over a period of 12 years beginning in 1994. If you click on the following text you may view some newspaper articles documenting my jazz related activities.
